For those who may not be familiar with the camps offered at Merom, here are brief descriptions of each camp session:

Faith Journeys    Faith Journeys is a multi-age camp that emphasizes Christ's living presence both at camp and back home.  The camp offers a place where we can share our own stories as we explore and share the stories from the Bible.  Knowing that God's Spirit is already working in each youth and adult, there is an atmosphere of mutual respect that encourages personal worth and Christian responsibility.  This week includes age-group and all-camp activities to strengthen Christian community, intergenerational learning, and camper maturity.

Genesis Camp helps beginning campers make new friends, explore their faith journeys, and develop independence, self-understanding and trust in God's ways of love.  The highlights of the week include swimming, hayride, and bonfire, low ropes experience, camp-wide talent show, a wide variety of worship experiences, and lots of fun games.

Junior High camp, through a variety of activities, seeks to encourage campers to draw closer to God and one another.  A canoe trip, swimming, trips to the tower, singing, an opportunity to lead worship, and dance are all highlights of the week.
Senior High campers are 9th grade through current year grads.  Within the multi-age experience of Faith Journeys, the high school group emphasizes Christian maturity and responsibility, and then acts this out in relation to the rest of the camp by spending Big Brother / Sister time with the Genesis campers and by leading the annual foot washing service.  Within the high school group itself, there is time for talk about issues that really matter, community-building on the high ropes and in the swimming pool, and fun on the volleyball court and at the dance...and much more!

Art Horizons     A brand new camp for 2012!  Come join us in a small camp setting to explore all kinds of art mediums.  We have weaving looms, lapidary equipment, enameling supplies, pottery wheels, and kilns.

Telling Your Story     Learn about God's story, crafting your story and publicly performing a story to God's glory.  It might be a book, a story you created, or a story of God's people - but you will have the opportunity to make it part of your storytelling repertoire.

Backstage Pass     Backstage Pass is a 5-day camp that designs and constructs the stage set and technical aspects of this year's show and helps with costumes for Creative Spirit.  If you like to build, paint, design, saw or hammer, you should come and be with us.

Creative Spirit    Creative Spirit is about using our gifts, for necessarily about "good" performance but about God performance.  Everyone from Creative Spirit participates at some level in the show on Friday night (where parents, pastors and friends are invited).  This year we are planning a performance of The Little Mermaid.  The shows in past years have included:  Godspell Jr, and Disney's Sleeping Beauty KIDS.

Tri-Level    Tri-Level is a camp that plans activities, discussions, and worship by age groups.  All camps come together for meals and all-camp time on Thursday evening.

Tri-Level Alumni    This 24-hour period is for Tri-Level "graduates" to come, explore, and share their journeys, and how camp has helped them through their personal transitions.  Alumni will join the Senior High group for evening activities and worship.

All Ages    The all-ages camp offers a unique experience where campers spend the week in multi-age cabin and Family Groups while still having time with kids their own age.  The camp embraces learning to appreciate the gifts each person brings regardless of age, and actively teaching Christian values in a family setting.  The philosophy of the camp is built on mutual respect - respect for God, others, the world and place where we live, and ourselves.  At the heart of the camp is the development of a personal faith in Christ, practiced in community.

Just You & Me, Kid     This camp is designed with the younger camper in mind.  Activities are intergenerational and geared toward campers 4 - 10 years of age and a parent, grandparent, or other significant adult.  Bible studies, crafts, games, swimming and fellowship are all shared during camp with an effort to interest campers in studying the lessons further after they return home.

Pastor's Kid Retreat    Pastor's kids have a unique role in our church life.  This weekend retreat is planned by preachers' kids for preachers' kids!  Come to Merom for the weekend and share your experiences, Bible study, challenge courses, and have a great time!
